This historic townhouse was painstakingly restored and decorated with comfort & charm in mind and the best part is the central location - walking distance to everything in the Historic District!

NOTE: This is is a 3-STORY HOME with one flight of stairs going up to the entrance, then one flight up to the living room/kitchen floor, then one flight of stairs up to the bedrooms.

HISTORIC GORDON ROW: Gordon Row was built in two phases between 1852 and 1854. In the first phase, the 3 or 4 houses on each end of the block were built and in the second phase the middle portion was built. There are a total of 15 houses in the row.

The houses were built in the Federalist (US) or Regency Style (UK). Each house is four stories high and contains about 3,300 square feet. The Federalist Style emphasizes square, classical features, plain decorations and mirror image rooms.

The Row was speculatively built; meaning that the homes were built as a lot then sold rather than individually designed for the owners. As a result, each of the 15 houses was nearly identical.

When built originally, the cost per house was between $3,500 and $4,000. The market was country planters, or farmers, who wanted a house in town for their visits to Savannah.

When originally built, the kitchens were on the ground level. The house was only two rooms deep with matching, or mirroring, windows facing the front and the back porch.

Visitor Parking Day Passes are available for 24hours/$15.00 and 48hours/$24.00. Passes can be purchased at the City of Savannah Parking Services Office at100 East Bryan Street.
2. Luxury Living Savannah has 4 reserved parking spaces located about 4 blocks east. We charge $20 per night, per parking space and this can be added to your booking charges.

OCCUPANCY: We NEVER allow more than 4 people, including infants/children, at the property at ANY/ALL times.

  We live south of New Orleans, so history and classic, southern American architecture are things we're used to. The streets surrounding the rental felt like another world compared to New Orleans—clean, quiet, and safe.
  
  Walking out the front door each morning, you step into one of the many green space squares that make the city so much more walkable. Coming back at the end of a beautiful day of eating, browsing, and exploring the historic district and riverfront, the townhouse is soothingly decorated with light greys and blues. Furniture is softly upholstered and the kitchen is beautifully decorated, but not overwhelmingly large.
  
  If I were forced to point out any negatives, I’d say the water pressure in the shower is not the greatest (these are historic homes, and I’m sure they’ve done what they can over the years). Internet could also be a tad faster and more stable for streaming movies and TV shows. If you have issues with stairs, this also wouldn’t be the place for you. Approaching the front door off the sidewalk, you have to climb up the first level of steps off the street, then behind the front door is a small entryway where you can either then go into Unit A or Unit B (each has its own combination lock, so no worries about that). This is Unit A, which then requires walking up another flight of stairs to get to the main floor of the unit where the living room, kitchen, dining room, and half bath are located. The two bedrooms and LARGE closet are up another flight of stairs. If you’re ok with stairs, I’d say don’t let this be a deal-breaker, because the climbs are worth it for the beautiful space. If you have joint issues, maybe stick to a one-floor rental.

  My best friend and I stayed at this home for a girls week. It was beautiful! The house was super clean. The beds are comfortable. There are a ton of stairs though, which I should have realized before booking as it is an older home. The location is good, but it is a 20 minute walk to River St. Which is not really a problem, unless you are pregnant and it is July. We would definitely stay here again. We thoroughly enjoyed our time!
